COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 25,1995 PSA#1269National Institute of Standards and Technology, Bldg. 101, Rm. A430,
Gaithersburg, MD 20899-0001 A -- ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM WORKSHOP SOL Q- POC Technical
Contact: Dan Stokesberry (301) 975-3605 The National Institute of
Standards and Technology Advanced Technology Program is announcing
Regional Workshops on Software Technology January/February 1995,
co-sponsored by: New Orleans Technology Council, New Orleans, LA;
Arizona Software Association, Tempe, AZ; The Colorado Chapter of the
Technology Transfer Society, Boulder, CO; North Carolina Electronics
and Information Technologies Association (NCEITA), Research Triangle
Park, NC. The purpose of the Regional Workshops is to introduce key
business and technical decision makers within software and information
technology companies to the ATP and to encourage cooperative technical
endeavors that will benefit the U.S. economy, whether or not within the
context of the ATP. The workshops are intended primarily for CEOs and
chief technologists of information technology companies within the
region of the meeting. Those from other areas of technology or other
geographic regions are welcome, however. Hopefully, attendance will be
small enough to provide an informal workshop atmosphere. We would like
to limit participation to one business and one technical decision maker
per organization. The workshop offers an opportunity to build consensus
and to initiate cooperative efforts within the community to solve
common problems whose solutions are beyond the scope of any single
company. The meeting is not intended to identify or promote specific
technical approaches or to evaluate project proposals. No program
selections will be made or endorsed at this workshop. Each workshop
will last one day and will cover five major topics: Introduction to the
ATP, including purpose, history, and status. Registration forms and
fees should be returned directly to the co-sponsor address and not to
NIST. The sooner you submit your registration, the more it helps us
with planning and arrangements. No provision has been made for
cancellations or refunds, but alternates may be sent. Other
non-technical questions should be addressed to the appropriate
co-sponsor as indicated in the site information. If you wish to make a
presentation or participate in a panel, submit your statement of
workshop position to Dan Stokesberry at address below. Technical
