A -- EVALUATION OF COMPOUNDS FOR ABUSE POTENTIAL IN BABOONS SOL N01DA-5-7050 DUE 032395 POC Patricia W. Mummaugh, Contract Specialist, (301) 443-1301, Nikki A. Zangwill, Contracting Officer, (301) 443-1301 The National Institute on Drug Abuse is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having the in-house capability to perform experiments in baboons to assess abuse potential of drugs. The general purpose of this contract is to obtain information about abuse potential of various drugs by means of self-administration models by the intravenous and oral routes in laboratory primates. Specifically, the contractor will be asked to focus upon generating data pertaining to relative abuse potential of compounds both within and between drug classes. The data generated by this contract may be used to supply information to the government's regulatory and drug enforcement agencies for use in determining abuse potential of various drugs in scheduling compounds uder the Controlled Substances Act of 1970 (PL 91-513). A three-year, cost-reimbursement, level-of-effort contract is anticipated. This is a continuation of work currently performed under NIDA contract N01DA-2-7204 with Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland. Estimated issuance date of RFP No. N01DA-5-7050 is February 10, 1995. Requests for a copy of the solicitation will be honored if received within twenty calendar days after the scheduled issuance date. Requests received after this period will be filled on a first- come, frist-served basis until the supply is exhausted. Responses are due to be received in the contracting office approximately forty-five (45) calendar days thereafter; however, there is no assurance that copies requested after the 20th day will reach the requestor before the due date for receipt of responses. All reasonable sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the Agency. Only written or facsimile requests for this RFP will be accepted.
