Privott, 804/441-6560 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is seeking parties interested in providing a trawling vessel for a time charter to support National Marine Fisheries Service, Northeast Fisheries Science Center, fisheries research in the western North Atlantic Ocean April 13, 1995 through May 26, 1995, June 18, 1995 through July 1, 1995, and August 6, 1995 through August 19, 1995. The solicitation for this charter will be issued in February with bid due 30 days after issuance. The vessel will be delivered and redelivered in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. It will operate between 40 and 42 degrees north latitude up to 200 NM off the U.S. coast(Georges Bank). It must have a minimum 19 day and 3,500 NM endurance and be capable of accommodating a minimum of 8 scientific personnel. The vessel must be capable of bottom and mid-water trawling (1,100 HP minimum) on a 24 hour basis. Trawl winches equipped with 900 m (492 fm) of wire, and a deck crane/boom are required. An A- or J-frame or other suitable method of conducting scientific tows, or deck space for a NOAA-supplied winch/A-frame combination is required. Deck space is required for a NOAA- supplied electronics van. Additional specifications are contained in the solicitation.
