Environmental compliance activities and remediation of hazardous waste
sites within the state of Alaska. RFP to be issued o/a 2/13/95 and due
o/a 4/14/95. It is estimated that three contracts will be awarded each
with an estimated value not to exceed $7 million for the base year and
each of four option years. To include but not be limited to
investigation of potential and known hazardous substance spills or
releases; hazardous and non-hazardous materials removal; packaging,
remediation, transportation, and shipment for disposal; air, soil, and
water sampling and analysis; geologic and hydro- logic studies; ground
water well installation, and monitoring; health and safety plan
preparation and monitoring; underground fuel storage tank removal; and
report and plans preparation in accordance with regulatory agency
requirements. A large percentage of the sites are in remote locations
with no road system. A draft statement of work for this acquisition was
sent out for industry comment on 9/14/94 to those firms who responded
to a CBD notice published 9/5/94. Those firms who requested a copy of
the statement of work at that time are on the Bidder's Mailing List.

owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term
working capital and bonding assistance for transportation related
contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at
any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for
bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract.
The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety
against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term
Lending Program at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
