(508) - 651-5029 This Center intends to award a three-phase research
contract for the purpose of designing prototypes of a combat boot for
temperate environments. The first phase is for design, fabrication, and
physical testing of five configurations of boot prototypes. Examples of
physical tests are bond strength, impact characteristics such as peak
g, and outsole abrasion resistance. Under Phase I (6 months), fifteen
pairs in each configuration will be delivered to the government. The
second phase (if required) (4 months), is for redesign, fabrication,
and physical testing of three configurations of boot prototypes. One
hundred pairs in each configuration will be delivered to the
government. The third phase (5 months), is for finalizing design and
fabrication of two boot configurations. Seven hundred pairs in each
configuration will be delivered to the government. Technical data will
be required. Delivery will be F.O.B. Destination Natick, MA. Responses
must be in writing and they must be received within 15 days of this
notice. Firms responding shall indicate whether or not they are a small
or small disadvantaged business concern. For the purpose of this
requirement, any concern employing 500 or less employees is considered
small business. Firm is to indicate whether they are a dealer or a
