A -- MEDICAL FREE ELECTRON LASER PROGRAM POC Point of Contact: D. Van Metre, ONR 251B (703) 696-4525. The Office of Naval Research invites submission of proposals aimed at exploiting unique features of free electron lasers for medical and related materials science research. The period of performance may be up to three years in length. Guidelines for preparation of proposals may be obtained from Dr. Marron. An original plus six copies of the proposal should be sent to MFEL Program, Office of Naval Research Code 341, 800 N. Quincy Street, Arlington, Virginia 22217- 5660. Proposals will be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria listed in descending order of importance: (1) overall scientific and technical merits of the proposal, (2) the offeror's capabilities, related experience, and facilities, or unique combinations of these that are integral factors for achieving the proposal objectives, (3) the qualifications and experience of the proposed principal investigator and key personnel, (4) relevance of proposed research to realizing medical applications of FELs, and (5) realism of the proposed cost and availability of funds. This is a Broad Agency Announcement as contemplated in FAR 6.102(b)(2) and will remain open for a period of one year following its publication.
