243-2076, Subcontract Administrator B -- SOIL AND GROUNDWATER
REMEDIATION, REMEDIAL ALTERNATIVES ANALYSIS (RAA). The Princeton
University Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) seeks interested and
qualified small disadvantaged businesses (SDBs) capable of conducting
a Remedial Alternatives Analysis (RAA). The applicable SIC is 8748,
Business Consulting Services, N.E.C., and the applicable size standard
is $3.5M. PPPL is currently conducting a Remedial Investigation (RI)
to determine the nature and extent of potential contamination of soil,
sediment and ground water at its facility. Based on preliminary
results of the RI, the primary chemicals of concern are chlorinated
volatile organic compounds (CVOCs) such as trichloroethyolene (TCE) and
tetrachlororethylene (PCE). Upon completion of the RI, PPPL will
identify those Areas of Potential Environmental Concern (APECs) that
may require remediation. APECs requiring remediation will undergo a
Remedial Alternatives Analysis (RAA) prior to development of a Remedial
Action Plan (RAP) for the site. The purpose of the RAA, which is to
commence on or about November, 1995, is to screen potentially
applicable technologies and remedial alternatives to determine the most
suitable alternative for remediation. After screening potentially
applicable technologies, those technologies determined to be
appropriate will be combined into remedial alternatives, and the
alternatives will be evaluated with respect to criteria such as
effectiveness, protection of human health and the environment,
implementability and cost. Following completion of this work, a
Remedial Alternatives Assessment Report will be prepared for submittal
to the DOE and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection
(NJDEP). THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. PPPL requests that only
SDBs interested in responding to a future RFP for this effort submit
Expressions of Interest (EOI) which provide a description of the firm's
qualifications and experience in conducting RAAs. EOIs will be used by
PPPL to develop the solicitation distribution list for a future RFP
for these services. EOIs (two copies) should be submitted to Michael
Karl, Subcontract Administrator, no later than February 22, 1995. The
phone number is (609) 243-2076 and the fax number is (609) 243-2021.
