The Flathead National Forest will be advertising an Invitation for Bids for the replacement of the Hydroelectric Plant Controls, Spotted Bear Ranger District, Flathead County, Montana. The project consists of replacing the existing control electronics (Fault Shutdown, Ballast Control, and Digital Panel Meter) with a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The new PLC will provide start up/shut down sequences and will monitor and control power output from an existing 50 KW KATO generator/water turbine system. Work also includes replacing an existing 10-inch motorized gate valve with an electronically-controlled butterfly valve. The existing water tank ballast will be replaced with an air-cooled load bank. Issue date, approximately February 15, 1995. Contract time, 30 calendar days from the effective date of the Notice to Proceed estimated to be issued May 1, 1995. THIS PROJECT IS DEPENDENT UPON AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. The Government price estimate range is between $25,000 and $100,000. See Numbered Note 3. (024)
