order under two Wang GSA schedules to acquire the ability to implement
Electronic Data Interchange and to run the Air Force-developed Base
Contracting Automated System (BCAS). The system must also interface
with the existing Banyan Local Area Network to provide routing of
output to PC workstation files and printers, and provide a menu for
both LAN and minicomputer applications. It is the intent of the
Government to order under GS00K93AGS5666, PS02, a Wang VS6230-32G 10
slot Base System with 523 MB drive, operating system, MADES II license
for 128 users, 32 port serial controller, and other peripheral
equipment. System to be traded in is a Wang VS100. It is also the
intent to order under Wang Schedule GS00K93AGS6444, PS01 27 each WLOC
Boards with windows software for installation in PCs which will become
system workshops. All equipment and software will be installed by
Wang. A small amount of additional equipment, below the synopsis
threshold is also required. Maintenance will be required for years two
through the remaining life cycle, and is expected to be issued as
order under Wang GSA schedules. This synopsis is a notice of intent to
issue an order against two GSA schedules and should not be considered
a request for offers/proposals. No solicitation document exists.
Vendors who can furnish and install all of the required hardware and
software are invited to submit, in writing, a substantive statement
clearly stating the equipment and software offered. The statement must
be substantiated by technical brochures, prices, delivery schedules,
and a statement regarding maintenance availability and prices. The
offered system must be fully compatible with the currently installed
BCAS and IBM compatible PCs which will be used as work stations.
Equipment must be new or warranted as new by the original equipment
manufacturer. Written responses must be received within 15 days after
publication of this notice. Oral information will not be acceptable.
All vendors responding to this notice with GSA schedule contracts shall
include a copy of the current contract. If no timely responses are
received which meet the Government's requirements at an overall lower
