small disadvantaged businesses (SDB), and 8% be placed with SDB. The
on-site data gathering and charrette process will be used on this
project. PROJECT INFORMATION: PHASE I (FY 97): Project consists of the
renovation of the second floor of Fairchild Hall to meet current life
safety, handicap accessibility, building code, OSHA, EPA, DOD, Air
Force, and higher education facilities standards. The work involves
upgrading second floor: laboratories, class/laboratory support areas,
fire detection/protection, handicap provisions, hazardous material
storage, exitways, utility chases, smoke barriers, environmental
systems, HVAC, ventilation, and electrical lighting & distribution. The
work also involves providing proper egress elements such as protected

reconfiguration of space (offices, classroom, laboratories, corridors,
etc.), interior demolition/construction, interior finishes, fire rated
doors, electrical lighting & distribution, HVAC distribution
realignment, equipment, asbestos removal, and all other necessary
support. The estimated construction cost for this phase is between
$5,000,000 and $10,000,000. PHASE II (FY 98): This project has the same
