The purpose of this acquisition is to provide the best quality of training in support of the United States Army chemical destruction and remediation activity (usacdra) through 1 April 2005. The chemical demilitarization training facility is located in the Edgewood AR EA of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The acquisition objective is to be accomplished by analyzing the work to be performed at allsites, detemine training requirements, and develop training ob-jectives and training materials. The training provided will be continually monitored and updated to keep the training up to date with the demil technology and to maintain the fidelity of the training to the demil sites. In addition, the contract shall AL-so provide testing and evaluation support to the chemical demilitarization facilities. NOTE: United States Army chemical destruction and remediation activity (usacdra) has been estab-lished in accordance with title 14, part B, section 1412 of pub-lic LAW 99-145 as amended, which directs the secretary of defense to Carry out the destruction of the United States of America stockpile of lethal chemical agents and munitions by the most effective, safe environmentally acceptable, and economic meansavailable. The LAW specifically directs the development of ademilitarization program that is safe for workers, the Public, and the environment. The technology incorporated in the present disposal process consists of mechanical disassembly or pene-tration of the munitions, separation of agent, energetics, metalparts, and dunnage in separate furnaces.
