66 -- CCD CAMERA SYSTEM POC Shirley Shoemaker (301) 975-6337 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to purchase on a sole source basis from Princeton Instruments, Incorporated, Trenton, NJ; a CCD Camera System Model LN/CCD-1100PB/UVAR, liquid nitrogen cooled CCD with thinned, back-illuminated proprietary Princeton Instruments chip with PI- UVAR coating. The system shall be comprised of: one each--ST- 138 Camera controller, WinSpec Windows-based software, WinView windows-based software, adaptor for Instruments SA HR-460 spectrometer, with option to purchase a Grade 0 blemish specification on columns. Delivery is required 60 days after date of contract. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. NIST intends to solicit one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1 as Princeton Instruments is the only known source who provides a liquid nitrogen cooled CCD with a thinned, back-illuminated chip of 1100x 330 pixel format, 24x24 micron pixels, with a dynamic range of 16 bits and that fully meets the stated chip performance characteristics, the quantum efficiency response with the Princeton UVAR coating, camera controller functions, and software functions. Only written proposals received within 45 days after date of publication of this synopsis shall be considered. Responses received as a result of this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
