Organization (DISA/JIEO) in coordination with the Joint Staff and
United States Pacific Command is seeking vendor information to identify
potential sources of computing, communications networking systems and
dual-use technology which will support joint warfighting as part of the
Joint Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (JWID 95). JWID 95 is a US
Pacific Command (USPACOM) hosted, Joint Staff C4I For The Warrior
(C4IFTW) sponsored and USMC led Interoperability demonstration
conducted in coordination with DISA, the Armed Services, DoD and
non-DoD support level agencies. The Joint Staff intends for JWID 95 to
be a joint demonstration of existing, off-the-shelf, new and evolving
technologies that improve the warfighter's ability to command and
control forces and, through joint staff screening, can satisfy
warfighting requirements. High level objectives of JWID 95 include
demonstrating interoperability between Services (US & Allied) and
industry developed C4I systems, and the capability to provide
situational awareness and decision support displays to a Marine Corps
led Joint Task Force in an joint expeditionary operation. Demonstration
categories will include Distributed Collaborative Planning, Battlespace
Management, Knowledge Based Information Presentation, Communications
and Network Interoperability, and Smart Push/Warrior Pull Information
Distribution. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited
to: LAN/WAN Network Management, Multi-Level Security, Direct Broadcast
Satellite and Personal Communications Services. JWID 95 will be
conducted in the August - September 1995 timeframe. Request vendors
responding to this announcement provide a legal size self addressed
(and stamped for approximately 1lb) manilla envelope to facilitate
mailing the demonstration proposal guide outlining the scenario
framework, specific goals and objectives, data collection & reporting
requirements and proposal submission format. Selection of proposals
will be in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Joint Systems
Engineering Group (JSEG), the Lead Service, CINC and Joint Staff.
Vendors selected for participation are required to provide on site
technical representation during each phase. Both unclassified and
classified networks will be used. Industry participants will require a
minimum of DoD SECRET level clearance to take part in JWID 95. Any
response to this request for information (RFI) must be made NLT 15
March 1995. This is not an RFP; no contract award shall be made as a
result of this RFI. Vendor participation in JWID 95 is at no cost to
the government. Responses will be handled by the Defense Information
Systems Agency, Joint Interoperability and Engineering Organization,
