COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 31,1995 PSA#1273Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO), BMDO/DCT, 7100 Defense
Pentagon, Washington, D.C. 20301-7100 A -- EXAMINATION OF ISRAELI BOOST PHASE INTERCEPT SYSTEM (IBIS),
FOLLOW-ON EFFORT POC POC: LTC Gregory Miller, Contracting Officer:
(703) 614-3760, CBD Reference Number BMDO 95-07. The Ballistic Missile
Defense Organization (BMDO) intends to negotiate with Wales, Ltd.,
Ramat-Gan 52521, Israel for follow-on effort. Israeli Boost Phase
Intercept System (IBIS) study results from a previous contract with
Wales, Ltd. have been evaluated and assessed to be valuable in the
context of Israeli theater defense. In order to explore if a meaningful
link exists between Israeli boost phase intercept needs and that of the
U.S., the previous IBIS study results will be modified and simulated to
determine where they satisfy U.S. requirements. This procurement will
enable BMDO to benefit from unique knowledge possessed by Wales, Ltd.
as a result of Israel's wartime experience with defense against theater
missiles, and with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles operating over hostile
territory. Work will be performed within the State of Israel. This is
not a request for proposals. This proposed contract action is for
supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and
negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. See
