58 -- LASER RANGEFINDER SYSTEM INFORMATION REQUESTED POC Contact Mr Rick Osmon or Mr Brian Tussey, (812)854- 5349/5879, FAX 812-854-4375 (Mr Don Ellison, Contracting Officer) Naval Surface Warfare Center Division, (NAVSURFWARCENDIV) Crane is requesting information at no cost to the government, regarding all applicable non-developmental, compact, individual- served, laser rangefinder systems with potential to enhance Naval Special Warfare surface missions. Systems will be required to indicate the distance to a target with one meter accuracy within one thousand meters and one point five meter accuracy at distances between one thousand meters and two thousand meters with ranging capabilities up to four kilometers desired. Candidate systems should be discrete in configuration and must be capable of being boresighted to a weapon, weapon system, or to various observation or surveillance devices. The system must be capable of being powered by ''AA''-sized, alkaline batteries. The system must be as light in weight as practical and must be rugged enough to withstand shock and vibration associated with Naval Special Warfare missions. ''Eyesafe'' technologies are preferred. Interested parties should submit technical information regarding their system capabilities. NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane may also seek the loan of such equipment to permit the government to conduct field and laboratory assessments. The field and laboratory assessments would be conducted for approximately one month each at NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane Division laboratories and at a CONUS or territorial field test location to be determined. These evaluation assessments will be conducted with systems loaned to the government at no charge and will not commit the government to any financial obligations. Please respond by 01 March 1995.
