intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with TRITON, 154 Post Road,
East, Westport, CT 06881-5062 (a base year and four option years) for
the continued software licensing and maintenance of 40 copies of the
Computer Audit Retrieval System (CARS) software. This is a proprietary
software package for which TRITON owns the license. The CARS is the
audit software system which contains computer functions required by
Internal Audit electronic data processing (EDP) Specialist to extract
and supply information from IRS's UNISYS 2200 systems to IRS internal
auditors. These functions include adhoc reporting, aging analysis,
statistical sampling, file matching, and confirmation letters, and all
integral aspects to providing EDP support to internal and external
auditors. The 40 copies of the CARS software are located at the IRS,
national Office, Washington, DC and the ten IRS Service Centers. No
