The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake intends to procure, on an other-than-full-and-open basis with Rockwell International, Collins Avionics and Communication Division, 350 Collins RD NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52498-0100, for modification of 5 each control display units (CDU) to 5 control display navigation units (CDNU) applicable to the AH-1W aircraft. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated to result from this procurement. This procurement is being pursued on a sole source basis because Rockwell Collins is the designer, developer and original equipment manufacturer of the CDU and CDNU and holds proprietary rights, drawings and data rights that preclude any other source from having the capability of performing the required modifications.
