The Government intends to procure, on a sole source basis, two (2) Sequent Computer Systems 192MB Memory Expansion Boards (P/N MEM-0192-00) compatible with a Sequent Symmetry Computer. The Sequent Symmetry computer is a proprietary computer hardware architecture of Sequent Computer Systems, and any memory upgrades to the system must conform to the existing hardware architecture. Due to the compatibility requirements and the proprietary nature of the Government's existing Sequent Symmetry computer system, only Sequent Compter System expansion boards are being acquired.
