The Government plans to acquire approximately 80 shipping and storage containers and associated spare parts for the AGM-142 AUR missile. The initial purchase will be for 42 containers with an option for 38 additional containers. A technical data package consisting of production specifications and engineering drawings will be provided. This requirement includes fabrication of approximately 42 production containers after successfully fabricating one preproduction sample container, completing qualification preproduction tests, and completing the physical configuration audit. A preproduction sample is required 90 days after contract award, with first container delivery 90 days after preproduction approval. All preproduction tests and the physical configuration audit are required prior to release for production, as identified in the specifications. Sealed bid procedures will be used with release of bid package on or about 15 Mar 95. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside under SIC code 3769 for businesses up to 1,000 employees. An Ombudsman has been established for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her concernS during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.
