C -- ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR VARIOUS MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PROJECTS AT THE NAVAL COMPLEX, NEWPORT RI SOL N62472-95-B-2235. This is Not Set Aside For Small Business. Architectural and Engineering Services are required for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates and/or surveys and preparation of reports for several projects at the Naval Complex, Newport RI each of which will feature requirements in mechanical engineering. Also included may be: checking of shop drawings, preparation of "as-built" drwings, and consultation during construction. There may be asbestos or other hazardous waste connected with projects that may be included in this contract. Services will be required within one year of the date of the contract award under the basic contract. There will be an option to extend the constract for an additional year. The Government reserves the right to excercise the option for this contract. A minimum fee of $5,000.00 is guaranteed under the basic contract. Subject to necessary changes, the total AE fee that may be paid under this contract will not exceed $200,000.00 for the basic contract and will not exceed $200,000.00 for the option year. AE firms responding to the announcement will be evaluated on the above requirements based upon the following criteria is relative order of importance. a) Specialized experience and capabilities in all phases of mechanical engineering with a special emphasis on work in existing facilities which are in service b) Professional qualifications of the staff to be assigned with special emphasis on field personnel to be utilized c) Location of the firm in the general geographic area of the project, provided there is an appropriate number of qualified firms therein for consideration. d) Cost control effectiveness e) Design quality control procedures f) Volume of work previously awarded to the firm by the Department of Defense. Engineering firms which meet requirements described in this announcement are invited to submit a completed Standard Form 254 Architect-Engineer and Related Service Questionnaire and Standard Form 255, Architect-Engineer and Related Service Questionnaire For Specific Project, to ROICC, NAVFAC Contracts, NETC, Building 1, Simonpietri Dr., Newport, RI 02841-1712. Firms Responding to this Announcement by 21 February 1995 will be considered. Services will be required within one year of the date of contract award under this basic contract.
