The base bid is a 1000KVA secondary substation to be installed near the southeast corner of building 57. A SF6 switch shall be installed to allow feeding of the new substation from one of two medium voltage 12,470 voltage, three-phase, three wire, feeders located ina manhole near building 57. The feeders are already mated with G&W medium voltage tee- splice connector kits. The contractor only needs to mate-up to this existing tee connections. The transformer priary fuses will be contained within the SF6 switch. The transformer shall be protected with valve type arrestors located in the primary throat section of unit. The output from the 1000KVA transformer shall be 277/480 volt, three phase, four wire, and shall be connected to the 1600 ampere switchboard via copper bussing. The new substation shall consist of a 1600 ampere switchboard with 1600 ampere main breaker, with electronic metering, house in a NEMA 3R, NON-WALKIN enclosure. The substation concrete pad shall have a curb and be of sufficient size to contain any transformer liquids that may spill. The sump low point drain must have capped pipe for drainage at any time. The new substation shall have one 225 ampere feeder to building 57 and the existing 100 ampere feeder between building 56 to building 57 shall be removed. The additive alternate is for the installation of a second medium voltage feeder between the manhole near building 57 and the new SF6 switch. This feeder is mated with a G&W medium voltage tee splice connector kit. The 4-inch duct between the manhole and the SF6 switch is already installed as a part of the base bid. SIC Code 1731.
