Z -- GENERAL AND PRECISION FABRICATION SUPPORT POC NASA Langley Research Center, Industry Assistance Office, Mail Stop 144, Hampton, VA 23681-0001. Firms are being sought to furnish the necessary management, qualified personnel, equipment, supplies and materials to provide general and precision fabrication support at the Contractor's facility and NASA-LaRC. This includes the manufacture, rework, or modification of research and support hardware, facility modifications and/or repairs such as wind tunnel models requiring repair, rework, or modification, structural members or assemblies to be tested or studied, specimens of materials to be modified or reworked in preparation for testing. Materials to be worked include but are not limited to aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, carbon, composites, plastics, fiber reinforced resins, polymers, ceramics, wood, and advanced state-of-the-art metallic, polymeric, and hybrid composite materials. Responding firms shall at times be required to provide up to 100% dimensional inspections on manufactured or modified hardware with its supporting documentation. The Contractor shall be required to provide special processes such as thermal processing, numerical control (NC) machining (4 x 5 axis), precision coordinate measuring, ultrasonic cleaning, welding, nondestructive testing, tubing and instrumentation installation and high pressure heated or vacuum pressing. Associated documentation to verify and support special processes will be required. Firms having the capabilities described above are invited to submit complete information to NASA LaRC Industry Assistance Office, Mail stop 144, Hampton, VA 23681-0001. Information should include: (a) The total number of employees and professional qualifications of personnel specifically qualified in the areas outlined above, (b) contracts performed or being performed in the above-stated areas (provide contract number, points of contact, telephone number, etc.), (c) current financial statements (Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statement), (d) Capability Statement, and (e) any other available descriptive literature.
