Officer, 617-377-7391. The Air Force anticipates the release of a
specific make/model invitation for bids (IFB) for multipoint video
teleconferencing (VTC) systems. This is a follow-on synopsis to the
sources sought synopsis that was published in the Commerce Business
Daily Issue No. PSA-1222, Tuesday, November 15,1994 under section 58
titled VIDEOCONFERENCING SYSTEMS. Additional information was given in
issue No. PSA-1226, Monday, November 21,1994 under the same section and
title. The systems being acquired are manufactured by Compression Labs,
Inc., San Jose, CA., Video Telecom, Inc., Austin, TX and PictureTel,
Inc., Danvers, MA. The IFB will include complete systems including
products needed to connect the above systems such as inverse
multiplexers, CSUs/DSUs/CODECs multipoint bridges and controllers and
peripheral equipment such as documents cameras. The Government
contemplates a three-year firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery,
indefinite-quantity contract. Multiple awards may be made. The IFB will
be available on the Hanscom AFB Electronic RFP Bulletin Board (HERBB)
(617) 274-0500 (TELNET 129.53.1.36). A MODEM and commercially available
communications software are all that is needed to access HERBB. A copy
of the IFB will also be available in hardcopy format at the Phillips
Research Laboratory at Hanscom AFB, MA. Procedured for using the
library may be obtained from Mr. Fred Santino at (617)377-4518. The
closing date will be contained in the IFB. Firms having interest,
adaptability, and background may access the IFB by HERBB instructions.
The IFB will be distributed on HERBB only. Paper copies will not be
distributed. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the
basis of this notice. An ombudsman has been appointed to hear from
offerors or potential offerors during the bid development phase of this
acquisition of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the
program director or the contracting officer, but to communicate
contractor concerns, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality
as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in
evaluation of bids. Interested parties are invited to call Colonel
Thomas Mackey at (617)377-5106. The Ombudsman should only be contacted
with issues or problems that have previously been brought to the
attention of the program manager and/or contracting officer and could
