17 -- PROCUREMENT OF SPARS III NET RECOVERY SYSTEM POC Contact, Anna Lisa Wilkinson, Phone (703)604-0757 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-92-G-0087 for the fabrication of a SPARS III Net Recovery System from Pioneer UAV, Inc.. SPARS III is the shipboard net recovery system used with the Pioneer UAV system aboard the USS Austin Class LPD ships. This procurement will consist of the poles, cables, winch, energy absorbers, guy cables, rams and fasteners which are included in the SPARS III system. Pioneer UAV, Inc. is a joint venture between AAI Corporation, Hunt Valley, MD, and Israel Aircraft Industries, Israel, and is the prime contractor for the Pioneer system.
