Hickman (Site Code DODAAC) The Corps of Engineers, Mobile District,
plans to place a delivery order to Xerox Corporation against GSA ADP
Schedule Contract No. GSOOK94AAGS5808 for two plotters with stackers,
Model No. 8840D. The plotter must be completely compatible with the
Engineering Division's existing computer- communications architecture,
and must not require time consuming hardware or software
modifications. Plotter must be capable of producing plots compatible
with current industry standards and deliver a high quality product.
Plots must be of high quality, produced in large numbers, and must be
available in C-size. The plotter must be interoperable with installed
base of Integraph CADD hardware, software, and network resources which
include Novell/PC/TCP-over-Ethernet (802.3) network communications
architecture. Plotter must be capable of being operated outside a
controlled environment with no special lighting, cooling, or power
requirements. It must not require a dedicated operator and after
initial installation, system administrator support shall be nominal.
This is a notice of intent to procure in accordance with FIRMR
201-39.501 through an existing GSA ADP Schedule Contract and shall not
be considered a request for offers. ADP Schedule firms must indicate
their interest within 15 days after publication of this notice and
furnish quotations and product information sufficient to evaluate the
product, and the GSA schedule contract, if they can meet or exceed the
requirements described by the brand name item - Non-ADP Schedule firms
will be considered if responding within 15 days, with clear and
convincing documentation that the proposed system meets or exceeds the
characteristics of the brand name item at a cost sufficiently more
advantageous than the schedule contract named. No solicitation exists
and requests for such documents without the foregoing required
documentation will be considered nonresponsive. The Government reserves
the right not to open this requirement to competition based upon
technical responses to this notice. Technical responses and request
received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be
considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a
competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in
response to this notice. Transmission by facsimile to Nora Bishop at
334-441-6510 are acceptable - If no affirmative responses are received
within 15 days of this notice that meet the requirements above, the
Corps of Engineers will place the order for the brand name item in
accordance with the GSA Schedule contract named above. All responses
from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of
analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer
may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is
issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such
solicitation will be issued to the intended schedule vendor and all
firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request a
