Specialist, (202)287-3667. The National Museum of American Art has
created several art databases. Among these: The Inventories of American
Painting and Sculpture and a related project called ''Save Outdoor
Sculpture (SOS)'', record information about art objects in public and
private collections across the United States. Data is catalogued on the
Smithsonian Research Information System (SIRIS), an IBM mainframe that
uses NOTIS software. New Records are entered into a RISC 6000 System
using a custom developed applications. Information is compiled from a
varity of published and unpublished sources. Contract assistance is
sought to provide on-site professional cataloging and support functions
for the Art Inventories. Estimated quantity is 42,000 titles in the
fields of American painting and sculpture. Estimate minimum 7-8,000
records entered annually. Two types of materials are to be catalogued:
SOS; surveys and inventory records. Worksite is NMAA, 8th & G Streets,
N.W., Washington, D.C. Option site for overflow may be required of
Contractor. Contract Period of Performance is for base year and four
option years. This contract is subject to the Service Contract Act. ALL
