35 -- OVERWRAP PACKAGING MACHINE Sol BEP-95-44(TN). Contact Jeff Ryan, Contract Specialist, 202/874-2132. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) plans to issue a solicitation to acquire four (4) horizontal overwrap (shrink wrap) packaging machines which will be used to heat-seal various quantities of stamp products. The machines will use seventeen and a half inch (17.5'') unprinted packaging film capable of resistance sealing and heat shrinking. The shrink wrap machines shall seal the edges to form pillow type bags. In addition, the shrink wrap machines shall be capable of applying heated air to the entire bag, as well as selected parts of the bags through the use of directed air. Each shrink wrap machine shall be capable of forming bags in the following size ranges: a minimum of 3'' long by 2'' wide by 1/8'' high, to a maximum of 23'' long by 18'' wide by 6.5'' high. The BEP anticipates the solicitation will be ready on or about February 14, 1995. Please submit a written request for a copy of this solicitation prior to that date.
