Gail Nagle, Contract Specialist, (703) 602-0200. The Naval Sea Systems
Command intends to procure one (1) Refrigeration Recovery Unit, Ship
Based, CFC 114 (preproduction unit) and associated data with options
for up to an additional four hundred and fifty (450) units and
associated data, technical manual, and technical data package. The
Refrigeration Recovery Units (RU) will be utilized to prevent the
release of CFC-114, and other high pressure refrigerants (CFC-12,
HCFC-22, HFC-134a) during maintenance, repair, testing and disposal of
air conditioning equipment in ships. The RUs shall be ARI 740-(latest
issue) certified by the date for receipt of proposals. Proof of
certification for CFC-114 and test results for the unit being offered
shall be supplied with the proposal. The unit is designed to meet
expected EPA requirements under SECTION 608 of the U.S. CLEAN AIR ACT,
including the requirement to evacuate high pressure A/C systems to a
vacuum of at least 15 inHg. Delivery of the RU will be thirty (30) days
