Contract Specialist, 301-402-2849. The National Institutes of Health
intends to negotiate with Novel Electronics Inc., as a sole source
under the authority of 41.U.S.C. 253(c)(1), for a Pedar System P100,
5PR, with software option 814D, EMED-MULTIMASK, and P101, EMED/PEDAR
software link. National Center for Research Resources, requires a PEDAR
MEASURING SYSTEM to enable the study and measurement of insole pressure
distribution. The system shall be based on ''captive sensor
technology''. The calibration procedure shall be accomplished with an
air bladder calibration device delivered with the system. The complete
Pedar System shall consist of the following: 1) Pedar electronics and
cables (shall scan 9900 sensors per second; measurement frequency
shall be 50 Hz with 198 sensors). 2) Pedar measuring insoles - shall
include five (5) pair in different sizes. Vertical ground reaction
forces shall cover the entire plantar surface of both feet, with a
measurement range of from 1 to 60 N/cm2 (99 sensors per measuring
insole). 3) Pedar calibration devide shall be delivered with the
manometer. This is not a formal solicitation. However, concerns that
respond to this notice must furnish concise responses directed
specifically to the requirements mentioned above. Sources demonstrating
the capability to accomplish the above shall supply pertinent
information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to
perform. Information furnished should include enough material to
perform a proper evaluation. Respondents will not be notified of the
