Desktop V is another in the series of Air Force procurement projects to provide contractual sources of supply for commercial off the shelf computer systems including portable systems, desktop systems, advanced desktop systems, server systems, software, peripherals and upgrades including life-cycle support services at worldwide locations. A CBD notice for this requirement appeared under Class 70, on Page 27 of Issue No. PSA-1112 dated 08 Jun 94, Request for Proposal No. F01620-94-R-A430. The Air Force is conducting a survey and evaluation to determine the extent to which the Desktop V requirement should be offered in support of the 8(a) program as a national competitive buy and will use the information obtained as part of its evaluation as prescribed at FAR Part 19.804. An 8(a), as defined in the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 19.8, is one which has been designed for program participation by the Small Business Administration under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. Interested 8(a) firms are highly encouraged to participate in this survey. In order to facilitate and expedite the decision process, the survey has been placed on the Headquarters Standard Systems Group (HQ SSG) Acquisition Bulletin Board System (BBS) at MAFB-Gunter Annex AL.
