This synopsis has been republished to correct the previous published
synopsis listed as RFP N01DA-5-8059. The correct RFP No. is
N01DA-5-8060 for the project entitled Rodent and Monkey Testing for
NIDA Opiate Treatment Discovery Program. The National Institute on Drug
Abuse (NIDA) is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations
having in-house capability to: evaluate the pharmacological activity of
novel opioid compounds in rodents and monkeys; evaluate the effects of
compounds in opiate dependent rodents and monkeys; and evaluate the
effects of compounds in rat drug discrimination and place conditioning
studies. The offeror must also indicate possession of current DEA
registration for Schedule II-V substances prior to award and apply for
Schedule I registration for heroin and, if applicable, other Schedule
I substances. Estimated issuance date of RFP No. N01DA-5-8060 is March
14, 1995 and responses are due to be received in the Contracting Office
60 calendar days thereafter. Written requests for copies of
solicitations will be honored if received within twenty calendar days
after issuance of the solicitation. Written requests received after
this period will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis until
the supply is exhausted; however, there is no assurance that copies
requested after the twentieth day will reach the requestor before the
due date for recept of responses. The Governement reserves the right to
make more than one award or no award at all in response to the RFP.
Moreover, the RFP may be amended or canceled if determined to be in the
best interest of the Government. Written requests shall be forwarded to
