A -- A - AIR-TO-AIR STARSTREAK (ATASK) INTEGRATION PROGRAM SOL DAAJ02-95-R-0003 DUE 031795 POC Sylvia C. Ray, Contract Specialist, (804) 878-4818; Lauren L. The Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) intends to negotiate and award a classified contract under an other than full and open competitive basis with Shorts Missile Systems, Northern Ireland. This effort was congressionally mandated. The objective of this research and development effort is to investigate the cost effectiveness, system effectiveness, and operational feasibility of an Air-to-Air Starstreak Missile (ATASK) system when integrated on the AH-64A. Encompassed in this effort is the integration of the ATASK system aboard the AH-64A, supporting safe separation testing, and identification of any modifications necessary to the ATASK system or the AH-64A to optimize compatibility and effectiveness. Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Shorts Missile Systems is deemed the only source for this work as they are the developer and manufacturer of the Starstreak missile. Shorts Missile Systems is deemed the only source capable of satisfying the Government's requirements and they are the only known source having sufficient data and knowledge to perform this effort.
