COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 9,1995 PSA#1280INTELINK INDUSTRY CONFERENCE The CMS/ISS (Community Management Staff /
Intelligence Systems Secretariat) is soliciting participation by
industry and academia as presenters or panelists in the Intelink
Industry Conference to be held in Washington, D.C. on 18-20 April. The
conference will bring together Govenment, industry, and academia in a
forum for sharing information relevant to Intelink, an Internet-like
integrated dissemination and collaboration service that is
revolutionizing the way the Intelligence Community conducts business.
The conference is an opportunity for industry/academia to learn about
Intelink requirements and to describe work on current or future
technologies and commercial or public domain products/tools that would
be of interest in this evolving environment. Interested parties should
submit an abstract (FAX submissions preferred) on relevant
technologies, products, or research to: Mr. Brindley, CMS/ISS, Room
5E13, OHB, Washington, D.C. 20505, Unclassified FAX (703)482-2144. The
ISS will review and select presenters from the submitted abstracts.
All submitters will be notified of the status of their submissions. The
deadline for receipt of presentation abstracts is Friday, February 17,
1995. Technologies of interest include but are not limited to:
security; network information discovery and retrieval (NIDR) and
associated information structures; automated information dissemination
lists and profilers; real-time acquisition and playback; automated
information management and information currency; multimedia
high-bandwidth communications distribution; collaboration and
groupware. Intelink, an operational service that has been declared to
be the strategic direction for all intelligence dissemination, is part
of an overall effort to reduce duplication among the various agencies
and services, enhance interoperability, modernize systems, and
leverage off of the impressive developments by the commercial sector in
the multimedia computing and communications fields. The Intelink
framework conforms to the future direction of the National Information
