Y -- CONSTRUCT AIRCRAFT PARKING APRON AND HYDRANT REFUELING SYSTEM, BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ANG), BIRMINGHAM, AL Sol. DAHA01 95 B 0002. POC: MSgt Lanier, (334) 213-7515, Contract Specialist. Project consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment required to perform all work in strict accordance with specifications, schedules, and drawings for the construction of a Parking Apron and Hydrant Refueling System for KC 135 Aircraft, complete and ready for use. A general description of the work includes the following: concrete culvert, storm sewers, and miscellaneous utilities. Construct a new 55,171 square yard concrete parking apron; a new 7,785 square yard Taxiway F with asphalt; construct a 3,418 square yard of concrete ramps to the Fuel Cell Dock and Maintenance Hanger; storm sewer culvert relocation system; POL operations area site work; two refueling truck parking areas; a hydrant refueling system complete consisting of one 2,500 BBB aboveground steel tank, with concrete dike walls and containment paving; approximately 6,900 LF of 10'' double wall underground hydrant loop piping with interstitial leak detection and protection; a hydrant system pump shelter complete with an AFFF Storage Room and Control Room; a 6,000 gallon double wall underground product recovery tank, and incidental work and appurtenances required to provide a complete and useable hydrant system. Construct an additional 22,817 square yard concrete parking apron with blast fence, lights, a 1,492 square yard widening of Taxiway ``F'', an emergency catch basin; two (2) prefabricated hydrant pits complte with riser stacks and control valves, for two prefabricated hydrant pits installed under the Base Bid. Construct second 2,500 BBL tank, concrete dike walls and containment paving complete with incidental related work and appurtenances, and a complete fuel spill recovery system. Construct AGE parking lot and apron access road, and additional paved shoulders adjacent to Taxiway H and the north perimeter of the parking apron. Install fencing around AGE area. Install pump shelter over existing pump pad. Estimated cost of construction is more than $10,000,000.00. A non-refundable check of $175.00 made payable to the A&FO, Tyndall AFB, FL is required for each set of plans and specifications.
