Program Executive Office for Theater Air Defense has a requirement for
a shipboard Infrared Search and Track (IRST) System. The program
objective is to procure a passive, high resolution infrared system that
can detect and track Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles (ASCM) threats at or
below the horizon with minimum false alarms to augment existing optical
and radar sensors. The IRST will be an integral part of the Integrated
Ship Defense Systems. One United States prime contractor will be
selected to design, fabricate and test the Engineering Development
Models (EDMs) of the IRST and to fabricate a LRIP system. Foreign
cntractors may only participate at the subcontractor level. Interested
