NCCOSC RDTE Division intends to negotiate a Firm-Fixed-Price Contract for eight (8) NextStep 486 compatible computers. The specifications/requirements are as listed below: 1) Systems must be certified by Next, Inc. to work with NextStep 486 version 3.3 or later. 2) System must contain the an Intel Pentium 486/DX4 100Mhz CPU with 16 Kbyte internal/256 Kbyte external write-through cache. Motherboard must be upgradeable to Intel OverDrive Microprocessor. 32MB RAM minimum (70 ns or faster) expandable to 96Mb; memory SIMMs should be largest size 72-pin SIMMs the motherboard will support, no less than 16 MB SIMMs. Motherboard must have at least one (1) VL-BUS and three (3) ISA expansion slots. 17'' minimum color monitor, .26mm dot pitch, capable of minimum 1120xx832 @ minimum 74Hz vertical refresh rate. Must comply with MPRII Standard for low emissions, and EPA Energy Star and VESA guidelines for power management. Local Bus graphics and 2 MB VRAM. Integrated 16-bit, 44 Khz stereo audio, speaker, and microphone. Integrated 32-bit Ethernet controller with one (1) RJ-45 connector. Integrated 32-bit Fast SCSI-2 controller capable of 10 MB per second transfer rate. 1 GByte Fast SCSI-2 hard drive. 101 -key keyboard with Next specific keycaps for audio and brightness controls. PS/2 mouse. 3-1t2 INCH 1.44 MB floppy drive. 2 serial ports, 1 parallel port, 1 external SCSI port. Hard disk should configured with a 350 MB DOS Partition (approx.) and a 650 MB Nextstep Partition (approx.) Preinstalled with Nextstep User Version 3.3 (or latest version). Preinstalled with Microsoft Windows 3.1 (or latest version), and Microsoft DOS 6.22 (or latest version). Systems must come with a 1-year on-site parts and labor warranty and toll-free, 24 hour technical phone support. Computer shall be inspected at vendor's location.
