The purpose of this briefing is to provide industry with background information and operating experience with existing Navy berthing barges. This briefing will include an opportunity for potential bidders to tour the Navy berthing barge APL 32 and to ask any questions. The government briefing will be conducted on Wednesday February 22, 1995 at the Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) Little Creek, VA on board APL 32, commencing at 8:30. A guided tour of APL 32 will be provided upon the completion of the government briefing and question/answer period. The APL 32 will be available for touring until 3:00 PM on February 22, 1995. Interested parties must submit (by FAX) a visit request to NAB Little Creek, including: Visitors Name, SSN, Employer, Company Position, Address, Phone Number, Date(s) of Visit, and purpose of Visit. This information should be FAXED to the NAB Little Creek Security Office, Attn: Pass and I.D. Office at (804) 363-4042 and to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) 02222 at (703) 602-7360. Additionally, for all potential bidders interested in receiving a copy of the draft specifications for APL 61/62 prior to the scheduled briefing an appropriate INTERNET address or FAX number should be provided to NAVSEA 02222 along with the visit request. Prior to gaining entrance into NAB Little Creek, visitors must obtain a visitors pass from the Pass and I.D. Office located outside Gate 5 at NAB Little Creek. Directions from the Norfolk International Airport to NAB Little Creek are as follows: Upon exiting the airport, take Azalea Garden Road to Interstate 64E. Follow this interstate and exit at North Hampton Boulevard. Follow North Hampton Boulevard until you reach Independence Boulevard, take this exit then follow the signs to NAB Little Creek. The Pass and I. D. office is at the intersection of Independence Boulevard and Shore Drive. Directions within NAB Little Creek from Gate 5 to the APL 32 can be obtained from the Pass and I.D. Office.
