V -- TRANSPORTATION FIRMS The State of Georgia is considering the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to obtain a qualified contractor in each of the State of Georgia's ten (10) Health Districts to be the prime or sole provider of Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) Services. Offerors will be allowed to submit proposals for more than one district but must provide a separate proposal for each district in which they want to compete. Reimbursemet will be based on a per Medicaid eligible capitated rate set for each district and by the proposal process. The initial contract will run from the date of issuance until June 30, 1996. The Department of Medical Assistance (DMA) may subsequently renew the contract two (2) times, subject to funding authority and satisfactory performance, for terms up to one (1) fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) each. In accordance with Federal Regulations, the NET Program offers transportation services to Medicaid recipients who are seeking necessary medical care and have no other means of transportation. Georgia Medicaid NET services to be provided under the RFP include minibuses, wheelchair vans, stretcher vans, access to existing federally funded transportation, and to public transportation, where appropriate. The anticipated release date for the RFP is Mid-February, 1995. A Georgia Bid Proposal Informational Seminar will be held in late February or early March. The specific date, time, and location will be included in the schedule of events in the RFP. Contract implementation is proposed for July 1, 1995. The Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) is currently compiling a list of interested parties to receive a copy of this RFP, if and when issued.
