Ozanich, (415)556-1388x228 Request for Proposals to Renovate and
Manage Residential Buildings in a National Historic Landmark District,
Presidio of San Francisco, California. POC John Ozanich (415)
556-1388. Pursuant to Section 111 of the National Historic Preservation
Act, 16 U.S.C.470h-3, as amended, and other applicable authorities, the
National Park Service (''NPS'') is issuing a Request for Proposals
(''RFP'') from interested organizations which demonstrate capability to
renovate, lease, and manage residential buildings at the Presidio of
San Francisco under a long term master lease from the National Park
Service. The residential buildings made available under this RFP are
located in the historic Presidio of San Francisco, California, which
transferred from the United States Department of the Army to the Golden
Gate National Recreation Area on October 1, 1994. Buildings available
under this RFP include: (1) approximately 125 historically significant
residential buildings containing approximately 230 units with
approximately 640,000 gross square feet total that are expected to be
available by September 30, 1995, and (2) other historic and
non-historic residential buildings which the NPS, at its sole
discretion, may later determine to be made available under this RFP.
This RFP is consistent with the Final General Management Plan
Amendment, adopted in August, 1994, which calls for the continued
residential use of the buildings made available under this RFP.
Buildings are in good or fair condition but substantial rehabilitation
may be required of certain buildings. Copies of the RFP may be
obtained by calling or writing John Ozanich at the number or address in
this notice. The RFP contains the procedures and form by which
proposals should be submitted. All persons interested in making a
submittal shall be permitted and/or encouraged to make an inspection of
prototype buildings including all available records, plans,
specifications, or other such documentation. Successful submittals must
have demonstrated the capacity to plan, finance, and implement the full
reuse of the buildings selected in the proposer's conceptual
Renovation, Leasing, and Management Plan. Following evaluation of
submittals, the NPS may choose to commence exclusive master lease
negotiations with one or more parties. The NPS reserves the right to
reject any or all submittals or terminate lease negotiations at any
time. Submittals must be received by the NPS Presidio Project Office by
4:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time, on April 17, 1995 at the following
address: Office of the General Manager, ATTN: Presidio Housing RFP,
