This procurement will be conducted under the NASA JSC Midrange Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy on April 16, 1993. --NASA-JSC is seeking a contractor to refurbish a Contraves 53MS 3-axis rat e table system, consisting of a mechanical rate table and a Modular Preci sion Angular Control System (MPACS) control console. The property has a value of approximately $250,000 and is in good condition. The system has recently become government excess property and is being held at a facilit y in Massachusetts. After the contract is awarded, the system will be sh ipped directly to the contractor. The refurbished system shall be delive red to JSC no later than six months after the contract is awarded. The s ystem shall be refurbished with slip rings on the two inner axes for full rotational freedom. The refurbished control console shall have a PC -com patible IEEE-488 interface. Other modifications shall be made to the sys tem so that it will meet the dynamic requirements, on all three axes of r otation, as specified with the Statement of Work. Due to the high cost a nd precision of the Contraves table, the contractor must be able to demon strate (1) prior experience with building or refurbishing inertial test tables and (2) reliability, dependability and customer satisfaction with existing products. In addition, extra weight will be given to the consid eration of contractor proposals in which the refurbished rate table contr ol console has a command interface and an electronic configuration will b e similar to one of the existing rate table control consoles at JSC (an MPACS (by Contraves) and an Acutrol ACT 2000 (by Acutronic)). --1 Three Axis Rate Rotational Motion Simulator --Lyndon B.
