Highway portion 10 50 meters X 1, bridge portion 10.50 (9.00) meters X
1; earth work volume 648,000 cubic meters; bridge super/substructure
work at two sites - 72 meters, substructure work at six sites - 600
meters, 14 abutments, 11 piers; foundation work open caisson (8.0
meters in diameter, 39 meters in length), concrete compaction piles (1
O meter in diameter, 32 meters in length), concrete compaction piles
(1 2 meters in diameter, 919 meters in length), concrete compaction
piles (1 5 meters in diameter, 637 meters in length), caisson-type
piles (2 5 meters in diameter, 36 meters in length), caisson-type piles
(3 0 meters in diameter, 30 meters in length), viaduct at four sites;
cross structure culvert boxes at thirteen sites, culvert pipbs at six
sites; 4) Construction period 1,090 days; 5) main materials to be used
approx. 34,000 cubic meters of concrete, approx 2,000 tons of
reinforcing steel, approx 4,000 meters of guard rail; 6) deadline for

Tender participants firms qualified to participate in this Project's
bidding must satisfy all of the following conditions and have their
qualifications for this Project's bidding screened and confirmed by the
Director of the Takamatsu Construction Bureau 1) firms that do not fall
under article 4 of the Contract regulations of Japan Highway Public
Corporation; 2) firms pre-qualified for open competitive tendering on
Road and earth work by the Takamatsu Construction Bureau of Japan
Highway Public Corporation for fy 93/94, and consortia comprised of two
qualified firms; 3) firms that have -- in the past five years (since
1989) as the main contractor -- actually carried out Construction of a
tunnel of over 1 0 kilometer in length and 20,0000 cubic meters cut
earth note: only Construction Projects in which bidder has had a 30
percent or greater share are eligible for consideration, and in the
case of a consortium, all member firms must have a similar experience;
4) firms that can assign to the Construction site a field
representative or a full-time Chief Engineer or engineering supervisor
who meets the following criteria has had experience of Construction
work of an expressway of at least 1 0 kilometers in length as field
representative or as Chief Engineer or engineering supervisor in the
past five years (since 1989); 5) firms not suspended from designation
in no 7 zone by Japan Highway Public Corporation; 6) in the case of a
consortium, each member firm must satisfy the following criteria a) has
been in operation for at least five years in qualified business under
the Construction business law; B) can assign to the Construction site
a full-time engineering supervisor qualified for this Project under the
Construction business law or a full- time nationally-licensed Chief
Engineer; and C) has an at least 30 percent share of involvement, and
the representative firm must have the greatest share firms
pre-qualified by the Construction minister regarding items (a) and (B)
in evaluation of their manageme nt operations are exempted from these
criteria; and 7) firms not related by capital or personnel to the
contractors involved in this Project (see Tender documents for details)
