Food and Consumer Service intends to issue a solicitation for Geomapping. Geomapping will be used to examine the delivery of Food and Consumer Service food assistance program benefits to children. The contractor will be responsible for identifying and geomapping areas of the U.S. in which children who are at or below 130% and 185% of poverty reside; and, in two states, the feasibility of using geomapping as a method of identifying and examining variables which affect access of children to food assistance programs. Issues related to using geomapping to examine Food and Consumer Service program access nationwide will also be examined. It is anticipated that this project will last approximately 18 months. This procurement is being set-aside 100% for Small Business participation. The Food and Consumer Service intends to issue this RFP in late February or early March.
