58 -- ADVANCED MODULATION FOR UHF SATCOM Contact Contracting Officer, John Loux (410-278-3399) An RFP is currently being prepared to solicit for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) moduelation techniques that are more bandwidth efficient over both 5kHz and 25 kHz DAMA UHF SATCOM channels than quadrature phase-communications (SATCOM) applications. The Government intends to acquire an efficient modulation technique that will be designated as the DoD standard. The UHF SATCOM military standards (MIL-STD-188-181 and -182) will be revised based on the selected modulation technique. The solicitation is expected to be available on or before 15 March 1995.
