Device. The U.S. Army Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command
(STRICOM) has a requirement to integrate M1A2 capability into the
Precision Range Integrated maneuver Exercise (PRIME) system. The PRIME
system is scheduled to be delivered to Fort Hood, Texas. Fort Hood is
scheduled to receive M1A2 Tanks in June 1995. This effort is to be
procured from the PRIME system development contractor, Loral Systems
Company, 300 North Halstead Street, Pasadena, CA 91109. Efforts shall
include technical and administrative support necessary to design,
install, field, test, and modify, as required, PRIME software to
properly simulate the M1A2 Tank. Required period of performance is
April 1995 through October 1995. Loral Systems Company is the only
source for the PRIME system, and therefore, the only source capable of
performing M1A2 integration efforts. The Government does not have the
descriptive documentation to convey the engineering performance
characteristics or physical configuration of the integration of the
M1A2 tank into the PRIME system. No technical data/drawings are
available. Authority and Justification is Federal Acquisition
Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source. As the designer,
developer, and manufacturer of the PRIME system, Loral Systems Company
is the only source which possesses the necessary data, current design
and expertise to perform the M1A2 integration effort. Respondents to
this notice should submit, within 15 days after publication in the CBD,
a statement of capability to determine their responsibility. No RFP is
