The U.S. Army Information Systems Command Contracting Office wants to inform all interested parties on the decision of SIC code use for future Operation and Maintenance of the Administrative Telephone System (ATS). In the past SIC code 4813, Telephone Communication, Except Radiotelephone, has been used for approximately forty eight (48) previous ATS acquisitions. The Contracting Officer has ruled that SIC code 4813 is not correct for these contracts. SIC code 4813 is for Voice and Data Communications Services that are provided by telephone carriers for local and long distance telephone (telecommunication) services. The Contracting Officer has determined that ATS acquisitions can be classified in several industrial classifications and will be determined by ATS location requirements. The following categories will be the major classification for future ATS acquisitions: Switchboard Operations - 7389, Telephone Equipment Repair - 7629, Telephone Parts - 5065, Maintenance of ADPE/Computer Switching Equipment - 7378, Install/de-stall and move Telephone Cables and Equipment - 1731, and Operation and Maintenance Services of ADPE/Computer Switching Equipment combined (when maintenance represents the greatest percentage of contract value) - 7378.
