D -- SHORE TO SHIP TELEPHONE VOICE POC: Contracting Officer, Jewell D. Lee (510) 437-3844. This is a notice of intent to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis shore to ship telephone voice via standard POTS telephone sets, facsimile and 2400 bps data communications via the INTELSAT satellite system with COMSAT, under the authority of FAR 6.302. Calls will be made over the FTS2000 network or via 800 number by various shore-side Coast Guard units located within the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam. Calls will terminate on Coast Guard vessel equipped with existing INMARSAT Standard A terminals registered with COMSAT. Billing will be to the call originator. Collect calls or bulk billing to the Coast Guard is not acceptable. Estimated 4,000 minutes of use per quarter. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. SEE NOTE #22. (040)
