Notice to Subcontractors for a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the N.W. Mauthe Superfund Site Remedial Action. A two-step bidding process will be used for selection of subcontractors for the work at the N.W. Mauthe site at 725 S. Outagamie St., Appleton, Wisconsin. The Contractor is CH2M HILL and the project is funded by the U.S. EPA and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under U.S. EPA Contract No. 68-W8-0040. The project includes excavation, stabilization, and removal of approximately 6,000 cy of contaiminated soil; backfill and grading of excavated areas; installation of about 1,100 linear feet of groundwater collection trench up to 30 feet deep; installation of collection piping; installation of foundation drain systems; and implementing a subcontractor wuality control and health and safety program on a listed US EPA CERCLA hazardous waste site with an estimated cost range between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Step 1 of the two step bidding process will consist of a submission of a technical proposal for interested subcontractors in accordance with the RFP. Step 2 will consist of a submission of a bid to perform Work. The documents for each step are to be submitted simultaneously, but each are to be sealed separately such that Step 1 documents can be opened and reviewed without opening the Step 2 documents. The sealed bids in Step 2 will be opened only for those technical proposals determind to satisfy the minimum criteria. A pre-proposal package with additional project information will be available on February 13, 1995.
