Officer, M. EVONICK, (360)476-5008 The contractor will be responsible
for processing lithium contaminated MK50 torpedo components and lithium
fire fighting material under this contract. Approximately 175 steel
drums (55 gallon) require processing. The material in these drums is
categorized as hazardous waste under local, state, and federal laws.
Torpedo hardware contains confidential and secret components, as well
as explosive devices. Offerors will be required to submit technical
proposals with offers to demonstrate its proposed procedure to reclaim
and/or dispose of the lithium contaminated hardware and shipping
containers, the effectiveness of the plan, safety, and environmental
compliance, facility waste management, and spill contingency plan, etc.
After award, the successful offeror will be required to process a
minimum of three drums in a pilot demonstration which will be witnessed
by the Government. The contractor will be responsible for submitting
various status and disposition reports to the Governmnet. No
hardware/material will be returned to the Government after processing.
Period of performance: Date of award until completion of final drum.
FOB Destination: Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Keyport, 610 Dowell
Street, Keyport, WA 98345-7610. All responsible sources may submit
offer/bid which shall be considered by Fleet & Industrial Supply Center
