The Kootenai National Forest is solicitating offers for a temporal, ecological synthesis for the Kootenai and portions of the Kaniksu Naional Forest involving research of existing documentaton, review of oral history interviews, and overall compilation of existing scientific studies. This synthesis will contain a summary of the ecological, biological, and physical history which will include disturbance processes, wildlife habitat change, vegetation succession, and human influence of lands within the forest boundary from 2500 years ago to approximately the 1940's. Est. start work date is 5/1/95; complete by 12/31/95. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. (039)
