These services will be done on an as needed basis determined by the Chief, Occupational Safety & Health. All services will be conducted by an industrial hygienist meeting the qualifications of a professional industrial hygienist (as defined by the American Industrial Hygiene Association.) In some instances, on-site certified industrial hygienist (CIH) may be required. All work performed will have CIH oversight. All reports and documentation will have CIH review and sign-off. Services may include, but are not limited to, the following activities: Monitoring of various air contaminants that are common in a medical center environment. Asbestos abatement project management and air monitoring. Lead paint abatement project management, air and wipe sampling. Environmental monitoring such as heat stress, cold stress and noise, etc. SF 254's & SF 255's are due by close of business March 20, 1995. This is a labor surplus area set aside procurement. The Professional Industrial Hygienist firm shall be in the geographical limitation of 150 miles of the VA Medical Center, Danville, Illinois. Submission of SF 254's & SF 255's outside the geographical limitation shall be cause for immediate disqualification. The IH professional services evaluation board will review the SF 254's & SF 255's to arrive at the top 3-5 firms who will be requested for interviews. (0041)
